Health checklists by age: 20s, 30s, 40s 50s and above

As we grow older there are several things we need, including our health checklists as age.

There are different stages of life, and certain things we need to do.

  • Or habits we need to practice.

There’s your 20s, 30s, 40s, and 50s and so on, and different things to consider about your health. 

But, one thing stands, and that’s being healthy.

It just might look different for some age groups.

You’re going to understand the health checklists for several ages, so you can know what to look out for.

  • And focus on more. 

Health checklists in your 20s 

At this stage of your life, it’s important start building healthy habits.

You gotta see your 20s as laying the groundwork for a healthy lifestyle. 

 Go for regular checkups and screenings to monitor your health, so you can find anything that needs attention.

  • Catching any potential issues early, can save your life. 

You see, health checkups aren’t only for your parents or your favorite grandparents.

It’s also important for people in their 20s , because you’re not TOO young to get sick. 

That’s the mistake your age mates make.

  • Don’t make the same mistake. 

Also, get physically active, but don’t only focus on cardio, mix it up. You can try.

  • Dancing (different types)
  • Rock climbing
  • Hiking 

Do strength training because building muscle is good for your body. Although, you don’t need to get “buff”, that’s not the reason for lifting weights.

Don’t forget flexibility exercises too. Many people your age, are stiff as stiff can get.

Improving your mobility and flexibility at this age, will help you A LOT as you grow older. 

Start eating healthy, by focusing on not only eating foods that aren’t processed. Try whole foods, fruits, vegetables and so on. 

Your 20s is not to time to live anyhow you want. You’ve got to be smart about your choices, and act right.

  • Keep your stress levels down

You can exercise, spend time doing things you like, meditate. They can help you manage your stress levels. 

  • Not smoking.
  • Drinking too much.
  • Fighting.
  • Or start dealing.

They aren’t worth it and can get you in trouble. 

Practice safe sex, if you’re doing it. 

  • Although everyone should, but you should learn to start doing that now.

Additionally, consider starting a savings account for your health, it will help you 

And, make good friends. 

Health checklists for your 30s

In your 30s, you would need to start maintaining and adjusting. 

Life could get very busy, but don’t abandon your health.

  • Keep going for health checkups, and screenings.
  • Lift more weights.
  • For for walks 
  • Monitor how much alcohol you drink 
  • Pay serious attention to your mental health (very important).
  • Take care of your skin. Protect it from the sun, and use products that are gentle.
  • Don’t smoke 
  • Screen for STIs regularly, if you have been having sex and practice safety before you sleep with someone.

But, if you’re married, it might not be necessary to screen for these things. 

Also, drink enough water, and stop taking too much sugar. 

Have a good time with your friends, and family.

If you can take vacations, and see the world. 

40s

By this time, your metabolism might be slowing down.

  • So, you’ve got start being more mindful of how you live your life. 

Also, practice meal prepping for the week. Take some time during the weekend, to prepare healthy meals and snacks. 

It’ll make it easier for you to not eat unhealthy foods, just because you’re short on time. 

Also, increase the number of health checkups you take. 

For example, if you’re a woman, take regular mammograms to screen for breast cancer.

As a man, check for prostate cancer. 

Keep an eye of your cholesterol levels. Get them checked and steps to manage them if they’re high. 

  • Pay attention to your heart health
  • Take more eye exams 
  • Do more stress- reduction exercises 
  • Stay active by continually exercising and really focus on improving your balance and flexibility. 

50s and above

Our health becomes more sensitive as we grow older.

Here are some health checklists that can help you on keep track with your health, in your 50s. 

  • Follow the recommendations for screenings that your doctor gives you.
  • If you’re  50 years older or older, it’s important to get regular colonoscopies done, which is screening for colon cancer.
  • Focus on doing lots of balance and flexibility exercises to prevent falls. 
  • Socialize more.
  • Get regular bone tests, and take the right steps to prevent osteoporosis. 
  • Spend more time with your family. Like your children, grandchildren, partner, friends, siblings and so on. 
  • Drink enough water. 
  • Keep learning new things to keep your brain active. 

A general health checklist for every everyone 

  • Get enough sleep, at least 7 to 9 hours a day.
  • Keep in touch with your loved ones
  • Spend enough time outside, you shouldn’t  sit at home all day, and every day.
  • Make sure you get enough vitamins.
  • Exercise your mind by doing activities that challenge it. Like, puzzles, reading, solving some equations. Or learning a new skill.
