How To Get Rid Of Boob Sweat Fast?

Sweating is annoying, but boob sweat? Ugh, the worst. It’s not that this area sweats more, it’s just that the sweat gets trapped where your boobs meet your torso. The skin folds over itself, so there’s less air to dry things out.

One of the hardest things about being a plus-size person is staying clean. Big girls have rolls and folds, and those spots are perfect for friction, sweat, and bacteria. All these things make it hard to stay… fresh.

What Causes Boob Sweat?

Let’s blame gravity here, not your sweat glands. The areas under and between your breasts don’t sweat more than the rest of your body. It’s just that when skin touches skin, it traps moisture and stops it from drying up.

Who’s More Prone To Boob Sweat?

If you’ve got bigger breasts or are going through hormonal changes like pregnancy, nursing, or menopause, you’re more likely to deal with this.

Why Does Boob Sweat Smell?

You notice a smell when your boobs sweat, sweat itself doesn’t smell, what is this?

Well, there are two types of sweat glands: eccrine and apocrine

The apocrine ones are the troublemakers here. They release sweat along with fats and proteins, which mix with the bacteria on your skin and cause body odor. These glands are mostly in the groin, armpits, and around the nipples, so if those areas can get smelly, your boobs can.

How To Deal With Boob Sweat.

  • Stop wearing tight shirts. Loose and free sized tops let air flow between your boobs, stopping sweat from piling up.
  • Stay away from certain fabrics. Cotton keeps you cooler than synthetic fabrics that attract and trap moisture. But for heavy sweating, go for moisture-wicking materials like polyester.
  • Use antiperspirant. It’s not just for armpits! Just make sure it doesn’t irritate your skin. Put some in between and under your boobs.
  • Use cotton bra liners. Cotton bra liners absorb sweat and prevent rashes. Or, just use panty liners.
  • If you can, switch out of sweaty clothes ASAP to avoid irritation and infections.
  • Go braless when you can. Let your boobs breathe.
  • Use absorbent body powder. Powders help absorb moisture and reduce friction. Try medicated powders, they work better.
  • Alcohol, caffeine, and spicy foods increase sweat. Sulfur-rich foods like cabbage can make sweat smell bad. Avoid them.
  • For bedtime, sleep braless on your back, keep your room cool, and wear breathable pajamas.
  • See a dermatologist if nothing has worked so far.
