Technology has made it easier than ever to track and improve your health. But with so many apps and devices out there, it can be hard to know where to start, or what’s actually useful versus what just looks impressive.

Using Tech (Health apps worth using)

There are several apps out there, that you can use to better yourself. And, how do you go about it?

You just got to find apps that can suggest workouts for you. Like a customized workout plan.

By using,

  • What you like
  • The type of body you have
  • Your fitness goals
  • And activity levels.

There are also apps that have features that allow you to share your health progress. And, let you see what your friends are doing. Which can motivate you to keep going. Also, choose apps that can work with other devices and let you see all the information about your health in one place.

Wearables: go beyond basic tracking

A cheap fitness band that just counts steps isn’t giving you much to work with. Look for devices that will give you something more. Like telling you you about your sleep stages, and how you get better sleep.

In 2025, some wearables can even detect irregular heart rhythms like atrial fibrillation before you have any symptoms. That’s genuinely useful, not just a gimmick.

Before you download anything: check the privacy policy

This is the step most people skip, and it matters. Health data is some of the most personal information you can share. Before downloading an app or buying a wearable, ask things like:

  • What data does this app collect exactly?
  • Is it sold to third parties? Is your data stored locally or in the cloud?
  • Can you delete your data if you choose to?

Look for apps that are transparent about their data practices and give you actual control. If a privacy policy is vague or hard to find, treat that as a red flag.

AI predicting health issues

AI is being used to detect health problems earlier from analysing patterns in your sleep to flagging potential heart issues.

 Telehealth innovations

It’s not only about virtual doctor appointments. There are now things you can use to help you track your health metrics and get a more personal care.

Apps that give rewards

Some apps let you earn points or win prizes for achieving some health goals. There are even some that include loyalty programs to motivate you to keep going.

Stress control devices

You can get devices that can help you learn how to control stress. Which is a big plus.

Meals

There are apps that help with meal planning, by using what your body needs. Also, there are apps that can tell you how much calories are in your food, just by scanning it on your phone.
